At a location in the centre of England, a 20 x 20m warehouse was installed to store heating and plumbing supplies. Tailored to the customer’s unique requirements, the warehouse has 4.3m walls with one electric roller door and one personnel door.
The building frame is constructed from anodized aluminium extrusions and steel connectors. Additional stability comes from steel cable wind bracing and support beams between the eaves. The frame is anchored to the existing uneven concrete yard with dowels and ground anchors through anchor plates. Although this part of the UK doesn’t see much snow, the building is tested to a snow load of 88kg/m² and wind speed loads of up to 0.5kN/m².
For comfortable operation within the building, double layer insulated roof sections were installed. These are made from flame-retardant PVC in accordance with DIN 4102/B1, M2.
At each end of the roof, the gables are single layer industrial PVC sheets which match the roof colour.
The building’s side walls are constructed from sheet steel in white aluminium (RAL 9006). They are finished at the base with steel edging and Kompri tape for a weatherproof seal.
The insulated electric roller shutter door is 4.2 x 3.5m and equipped with three-button control and emergency hand crank. The single-leaf emergency exit personnel door is 1 x 2m.
Rainwater drainage is managed by an external galvanized steel gutter system including downpipes on both long sides of the warehouse.
