With an impressive 1,200m² of floorspace, this industrial building is used to store and prepare vehicles for specialist use. 20m wide and 60m long, the customised storage facility has insulated walls and roofs and now houses a vehicle photography turntable and inspection bay.
The building’s aluminium frame is securely anchored to an existing concrete base with anchor plates and ground anchors. The frame and steel connectors give the building its strength which is rated to 0.5kN/m² wind load (BS 6399 - 2:1997) and 50 kg/m² snow load.
For worker comfort, the roof and walls are insulated. The roof is constructed from air-filled double layer sections made of fire-retardant PVC (DIN 4102/B1 and M2). The insulated side walls made of 40 mm thick sandwich panels made of corrugated steel sheets with PU foam filling. The bottom of the walls are sealed using steel edging and Kompri tape.
4 electric roller shutters allow a rapid throughout of vehicles and 6 personnel doors are spaced regularly round the walls of this large building.
Galvanized rain gutters with downpipes along the long sides of the building drain rainwater away from the structure.
